biography Stellaluna never really cared for much on their tiny little home, even their gender. Born in a lunar colony, they lived within a tiny dome of a city that housed other people, people that were genetically engineered to work for the more wealthy lunar districts. They were born in a test tube and taught the basics of education, which they absorbed quickly. Then they were set off to work at the young age of five. While they never really cared about anything at home or work, other than learning, they were in love with the idea of going to other lunar colonies and learn their customs there. It never left their mind and while they worked they would chatter about it to the other children that worked. They didn’t have the same interest as them, but it was still fun to talk about. Her wishes were answered, one day, when the company they were working for shut down and they were sent to another lunar district to be sold at the age of seven. The person who bought them happened to sympathize with the chatty “girl” and took them in, giving them their name in the process. They later found out that he was a traveler to different areas and wished to one day explore the stars. Soon it wasn’t the other lunar colonies and the home planet that they wanted to visit, but beyond that. They wanted to explore the space- no, the universe and learn from there. They never stayed more than a few weeks in each lunar district before going to other lunar colonies and even the home planet. It fascinated them to no end and they wished more and more to learn about the rest of the universe. So much so that they begged their caretaker to sign up for the dangerous maiden voyage to parts unknown on the SS Alma. He ended up agreeing and signed up for the both of them, not really thinking they would get an answer back. Well they did, and they were soon on the spaceship that would travel the universe. They were excited and chattered with their caretaker as they boarded the ship. They spent some time on the ship exploring it, but eventually they explored every single part of the ship and was left with nothing. Bored, they wandered aimlessly until they reached their room. Then they placed a palm on the door. Instantly, a portal appeared and while they were frightened at first, curiosity got to them and they stepped through. They ended up in a meadow full of flowers. Honestly, Stellaluna was thrilled with the new discovery and promptly told her caretaker about it. While traveling the ship, they would go to places she would create portals to and they would explore it together. It was exciting and soon they didn’t even need to stay on the ship to explore parts unknown. Eventually the two of them parted ways when her caretaker fell in love with one of the denizens of another world and decided to settle down. Not wanting to stay in one spot, they bid him farewell before going off on their own.
